PERCEPTION
A motive is an aroused need that acts as a force on buying behavior. But what determines the direction of this behavior is call perception. It is desirable to define perception at the outset rather than assume that “everybody knows what it is”. The difficulty is that no definition of perception is either self-evident or commonly accepted simply because psychology has not settled on a uniform language. It is also tempting to define perception as a subject matter distinct from other parts of psychology. The tendency is to think of perception as if were part of a flow chart.
